Become a Chapter Lead!
A Grandparents’ Diary Chapter is a local branch of our youth-led organization dedicated to building intergenerational connection through poetry and creative writing with seniors.

Chapters can form as school clubs, community groups, or citywide initiatives, and typically include a small volunteer team of 3 to 5 members who run weekly sessions in a partnered senior home.
​
​A Chapter Lead partners with a local senior home, recruits and supports their volunteer team, and brings the GPD poetry-writing program to their community. GPD provides complete training and resources, including guidance on approaching senior homes, leading sessions, and managing the program. Chapter Leads are also encouraged to create their own initiatives that contributes to the mission.
​
Ideal Chapter Leads are leadership minded, proactive, community driven, and creative.
Expected Timeline
Here's what you can expect to happen after you apply to become a Chapter Lead at Grandparents' Diary.
48 Hours
Our Director of Outreach will reach out to you to schedule an interview with you.
Week 1
Finish reviewing all training resources; begin outreach to senior homes
Week 2
Secure a senior home and plan a session with them; find a group of volunteers
Week 3
Host your first session and report back to us!
